The piece
An intentionally mismatched pair built around inversion and contrast. One earring places a cool white Australian South Sea pearl above a vivid red spinel and elongated blue-green opal; the other reverses the composition, with the opal above the spinel and an iridescent golden pearl below. The asymmetry is structural rather than decorative, with the two earrings designed as mirrored opposites in vertical order.
